Infrastructural construction

Road construction is a special field of construction including design, maintenance and repair of road of different types and subsequent improvement of territory adjacent to road. Road construction process can be divided into the following stages:

• Preparation of the ground - road surface base. If necessary, topsoil or upper soil layer is removed using construction and road-building machinery, after that sand blanket is bedded.
• Leveling up and pinning. Compactors and tamping machines are also used.
• Arrangement of road base of road metal (gross- and fine-grained). Layer thickness is varied subject to site and natural conditions, and is usually 15-25 cm. Surface is leveled up using machinery and thoroughly tamped and compacted.
• Arrangement of road base of gross-grained and road concrete mixes. Layer thickness is also 6 to 10 cm. Surface is leveled up using machinery and thoroughly tamped and compacted.
• Final stage of road construction is arrangement of road surface (road bed) of fine-grained road concrete mixes. Layer thickness is also 4 to 6 cm. Surface is thoroughly leveled up using machinery and thoroughly tamped and compacted.
