SUM (Switchgear of unilateral maintenance)

SUM-6(10)-E1 cells are a series of modular cells in air insulated metallic cases of unilateral maintenance. Fixed but technologically drawout or removable power circuit breakers, air-break disconnectors and load break switches, measuring current and voltage transformers, auxiliary transformers and capacitors are installed in SUM cells.

They are designed for completing the switchgears of three-phase alternating current with voltage of 6 (10) kV, frequency of 50 Hz in resonant or resistor grounded insulated neutral systems.

 

Main advantages 

Multipurpose use

Wide range of SUM circuits makes it possible to choose engineering solutions for a particular object (customer). By using load break switches with fuse protection, vacuum breakers with digital protection relay it is possible to use cells both in simple transformer substations and in distribution substations with complex distribution circuits.

High reliability

High reliability of equipment being a part of SUM, design and width of functional capabilities of digital protection relay minimize failure probability, repair and maintenance costs.

Operating safety

Secured by multilevel embedded interlock system, three-position switch design and constructive solutions meeting all the requirements of Russian standards.

Small size

Considerably cuts the costs for construction of premises for new switchgear and makes it possible to upgrade the existing switchgear without expanding the space of premise.

Ease of maintenance

Devices in the cell are technologically drawout or removable, all the controls are located on the front panel, state of the devices is displayed on mechanical and light mnemonic circuits. The cells require minimum maintenance during operation, digital protection relay units are equipped with self-test system.

Remote control and data collection

By using up-to-date microprocessor protection relay units it is possible to integrate SG based on SUM into electricity metering systems and SCADA-system.

Quality assurance

Due to high reliability and good life of the equipment used, design quality and up-to-date production process, cell life was extended and makes at least 30 years.
